This week we have continued our All About Me topic. We have also focused on the book of the week: Whatever Next by Jill Murphy and we have:

• shared books together
• singing songs and nursery rhymes as well as space themed songs and rhymes
• enjoyed speech and language activities
• talked about what we would take to the moon
• matching numerals to quantity using rockets and stars
• focused on number recognition activities
• also number formation
• played number games such as "what's the time Mr astronaut?"
• making patters and developing fine motor skills on our glitter tuff tray
• played circle games
• collecting leaves outside and making pictures with them
• built rockets with megablocks
• lots of space themed free art
• role playing whatever next with props
• mark making on rockets
• making up a story as a group
• independent reading
• learning new space themed words

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress. You are welcome to ask your key person for feedback at any time and book a time to have a meeting for feedback on how your child is progressing. Hoping you all have a lovely weekend.
