Weekly Blog: 8th to 12th December 2025
This week we have focused on Christmas! Activities we have enjoyed include, alongside other child initiated activities:
- making Christmas cards for family
- creating two festive display boards
- lots of mark making in various forms: water painting, wipe board marking, pencils, pens, tracing patterns
- making festive wreaths
- having fun in our role play santas workshop
- creating stories with our small world tuff tray
- lots of matching games
- learning about different 2d shapes and their properties
- lotto games and puzzles
- threading letter beads and matching letters to letter cards
- name writing practice and practice finding and recognising own name
- lots of listening games, songs and rhymes
- dancing to Christmas music
- lots of dressing up fun
- mark making/emergent writing on Christmas cards
- making up stories with soft toys
- making shapes with play dough
- counting games, songs and rhymesplaying games with balls outside
- playing on bikes and scooters outside
- building models with duplo
- lots of fine motor activities to help develop hand strength
- measuring different heights of children
- listening to lots of stories
