This week we have again focused on the story The Gingerbread Man. Activities we have enjoyed include, alongside other child initiated activities:

• learning gingerbread man songs
• playing gingerbread man bingo
• counting pictures with from the gingerbread man story
• placing giant pom pom buttons onto pictures of gingerbread men
• lots of mark making in various forms: water painting, wipe board marking, pencils, pens, tracing patterns and much more
• designing gingerbread men
• cutting out shapes to decorate gingerbread men
• making gingerbread men from scratch, the children really enjoyed cooking
• making stained glass gingerbread men
• size ordering different objects
• using shape stampers to create some fun paintings
• making models with play dough
• lots of listening games, songs and rhymes
• role play in our aeroplane, going on holiday
• lots of dressing up fun
• feeling different textures and matching them on our texture tuff tray
• reading stories in our reading tent
• making up stories with soft toys
• lots of puzzles and lotto games
• lots of phonological activities as described in the attachment in last week weekly blog
• sensory activities including textured floor circles that the children can walk on and describe
