Weekly Blog: 10th to 14th November 2025
This week we have focused on the story The Three Little Pigs. Activities we have enjoyed include, alongside other child initiated activities:
  • playing a game of matching coloured bricks like the house in the story
  • finding groups of three objects
  • making a giant wolf picture and giant pig pictures
  • making houses for the pigs with play dough
  • colour mixing paint to make the colour pink and then painting pig pictures
  • building role play with giant bricks and construction tools
  • listening games
  • sensory play
  • making junk model houses for the three little pigs
  • making a giant picture of a brink house
  • playing a three little pigs matching game
  • learning about remembrance day, having a two mins silence and making poppies
  • playing what's the time Mr Wolf
  • printing with bricks
  • making paper plate pigs
  • the grown ups dressed up in appropriate colours and acted out the story the three little pigs
  • lots of jigsaws, lotto games, matching games
  • lots of singing, dancing and action games
  • lots of phonological activities, please see the booklet below for ideas of how to incorporate phonological awareness in play (the booklet has been provided by the Oxfordshire County Council)
