This week we have focused on the topic: Advent around the world. Our book of the week: The advent story
We have also:

• learnt about Christmas in Britain during circle time
• also at circle time we learnt about Christmas in France, another circle time we learnt about Christmas in Germany and also Spain
• at circle time we also learnt about Thanksgiving
• we looked at our world map and learnt where different countries are in the world
• during craft we made stars, decorated candle holders for Christmas. We also did Christmas sticking, handprint turkeys and lots of free art
• matched numeral to quantity
• matching number cards to acorns
• counted pom poms
• read a lot of stories and enjoyed independent reading
• practiced writing our names and recognising the first letter in our name
• played a whispering game for a listening activity
• celebrated birthdays
• played group games such as jack be nimble
• enjoyed scratch art, dancing, modelling with play dough
• the children also did Autumn yoga
• played games in the front garden
• listened to French Christmas songs
• played listening games
• sang nursery rhymes and action songs lots of mark making activities

As usual the weekly blog represents a snapshot of what most of the children participate in during the week. Please speak to your child's key person if you would like to have further information about your child's interests and progress.
