Weekly Blog: 14th to 18th September 2026
This week we have continued to focus on our topic 'all about me'.
Activities we have enjoyed include, alongside other child initiated activities, have been:
- Making models with play dough
- Listening and attention games
- Creating lots of fun artwork based on artists such as Jackson Pollock
- Looking at our name cards and logos
- Lots on drawing, mark making and emergent writing on wipe boards
- Creating models while junk modelling
- Learning all about recycling and how to sort rubbish
- Looking at an Autumn sensory basket while learning about the Autumn Equinox
- Enjoying a yoga session
We have been spending time with our key children noting their knowledge and also their speech and language skills in order to help plan and progress their development.
Most activities are available throughout the weeks for all of the children to enjoy.
We also throughout the week:
- Built with duplo
- Created models with magnetics
- Enjoyed playing with cards
- Built lots of puzzles
- Did a lot of mark making in various forms: water painting, wipe board marking, pencils, pens, tracing patterns
- Enjoyed movement, music and dancing
- Focused on fine motor skill activities such as threading and using tweezers
- Played lots of matching games
- Played lotto games
- Had lots of free craft including painting and creating some lovely artwork
- Enjoyed lots of running games and ball games in the garden, along with counting games and action songs.
- We listened to lots of stories and looked at books
- Enjoyed lots of fun phonological activities
